Although the famous Raglan point breaks can look inviting from a distance, sharp rocks and crowds make these spots very dangerous for teaching surf lessons. As a result, we never take students out to the points.

Yes! We can pick up anywhere in Raglan for daily surf lessons. If staying near Raglan town, our usual pick-up / drop-off spot is in front of the library.

Absolutely! If you already have a couple lessons under your belt and want to practice your skills, we offer half-day surfboard and wetsuit rentals for $40 ($35 if you have surfed with us before). Check our Surf Schedule for the best rental times.

Although swimming skills are advisable for anyone who wants to pursue surfing long-term, they are not necessary for our surf lessons. Our beginner lessons take place at a sand bottom beach in waist-chest deep water. Our instructors will also be there to help you catch waves and keep you safe.

Of course! Our group surf lessons always have a mix of beginner and progressive surfers. If you’re new to surfing we will spend some extra time on the beach going over basic surfing theory and safety. Once in the water, the instructors will  be there to help you get tons of waves!
